FAQs
Some of the questions we’re asked most often about CCTV, alarms, doorbells
and network wiring. If you don’t see your question here, just get in touch.
General
-
Which areas do you cover?
We cover the whole of the Midlands, providing installations for both
residential and commercial clients. We do cover other areas on request, a further fee may be incurred.
-
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. We offer free, no-obligation quotations. For most projects we’ll
arrange a short visit so we can design the right system and price it
accurately.
-
Are you insured?
Yes, we hold appropriate insurance for the installation and electrical
work we carry out on site.
CCTV & security
-
Can I view my cameras when I’m away from home?
Yes. Our CCTV systems are configured with secure remote access so you
can view live and recorded footage from your phone, tablet or computer.
-
Do you supply the equipment, or can you install what I buy?
We usually supply professional-grade equipment that we know performs well.
In some cases we can work with customer-supplied kit, and we’ll advise you
honestly on what is and isn’t suitable.
-
What happens if there’s a problem after installation?
If anything isn’t working as it should, simply contact us. We’ll guide you
through basic checks and, if needed, arrange a visit to put things right.
Alarms & doorbells
-
Will you show me how to use the alarm or doorbell?
Absolutely. Before we leave, we walk you through arming, disarming,
using key fobs and apps, and what to do if you make a mistake.
-
Can you upgrade an existing alarm system?
In many properties we can modernise an older alarm by upgrading the
control panel, keypad and sensors while reusing suitable cabling.
We’ll assess this during our survey.
Network wiring
-
Why would I use network cabling instead of just Wi-Fi?
Hard-wired connections are more stable and secure, and they provide
consistent speeds. They’re ideal for CCTV recorders, TVs, PCs and
other fixed equipment.
-
Can you work in a finished house or trading business?
Yes. We carefully plan routes and keep cabling as discreet as possible,
using loft spaces, voids and trunking where appropriate to minimise
disruption and visible wiring.
If you have a question that isn’t covered here, we’d be happy to answer it
directly.
